BioBlitz weekend in Borgerhout June 5-7
In Borgerhout, Antwerpen, the local biodiversity monitoring will be officially kicked off June 5-7 with a week-end long BioBlitz!
A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible, in a specific area over a short period of time, in teams of volunteer scientists, families, students, teachers, and other community members. The experts that lead urban nature walks in Borgerhout, (focusing on birds, plants, spiders, and bees) will also monitor these species groups using standardized scientific methods. By repeating this BioBlitz and expert monitoring in 2029, we can measure the first effects of our greening efforts.
Want to get involved, participate in the upcoming BioBlitz, or join one of our guided urban nature walks? Check out all the details here.
