Klimplant

Klimplant vzw, short for Klimaatplatform Antwerpen (Antwerp Climate Platform), is a citizens' movement working towards a climate-resilient and greener Antwerp: a city where everyone can live better within ecological limits.

Klimplant wants to reduce Antwerp's climate impact and the climate impact on city residents. To this end, we focus on environmental issues such as softening, greening and blueing (water management), mobility, energy, food and the circular economy in a healthy urban environment.

We are a volunteer movement of positive thinkers and doers. We connect local residents with concrete climate projects. Our platform is there for all Antwerp residents. The actions are positive so that everyone wants to participate, and accessible so that everyone can participate. The magic lies in an open, connecting climate.

Klimplant pioneers with its own initiatives and is a catalyst that helps other enthusiasts to implement and scale up their own plans. We inform, inspire and bring people together. The emphasis is always on what Antwerp residents can do together: at street level, neighbourhood level or city-wide.

We build bridges between local climate initiatives in all Antwerp districts so that they reinforce each other. We inspire with good ideas from other cities and municipalities and share our knowledge about successful Antwerp initiatives with organisations outside the city. We capture the ideas and concerns of Antwerp residents about the environment and climate and translate them to policymakers.

Klimplant connects neighbours for a climate-resilient and climate-conscious Antwerp. Together, we improve life in a green city.
